Rensselaer Environmental Coalition
“The Rensselaer Environmental Coalition (REC) is a group of residents and other concerned citizens formed to address the serious environmental health and quality of life problems associated with two solid waste projects in the city of Rensselaer: the Dunn Construction and Demolition (C&D) Landfill and the proposed BioHiTech garbage processing facility.”
Mission Statement
The goals of the REC are to:
- immediately close and remediate the Dunn Landfill and;
- prevent the development of other hazardous projects such as BioHiTech.
Vision Statement
Residents and surrounding communities have the right to a livable environment with good quality of life for children, families and others
- Clean air in which to live, work, learn and play
- Freedom from toxic odors, chemicals, noise, dust, diesel exhaust and truck traffic.
